During a general survey covering all regions of Saudi Arabia, 12 species of termites belonging to 3 families were recorded. Five of these (<i>Anacanthotermes vagans, Microcerotermes parvulus, Amitermes stephensoni, Eremotermes sabaeus</i> and <i>Microtermes yemenensis</i>) were new records for that country. These brought the total number of species known to occur in Saudi Arabia to 22, belonging to 11 genera in 4 families. All dead and living plants, wood and wooden structures, paper, books, cartons, jute, matting, dung, and non-cellulose material. All the genera were represented in the central region but only 2 in the eastern region. The dominant genera were * 2Anacanthotermes*1 in the northern region, <i>Psammotermes</i> in the eastern, western and central regions, <i>Microcerotermes</i> in the central region, <i>Amitermes</i> in the northern and southern regions, and <i>Microtermes</i> in the southern region. -- AATA
