Abstract
Quaternary ammoniumchlorid compounds containing alkyl- tiomethyl residue exhibit protective characteristics against corrosion in both, neutral and acidic agents. The characteristics of one group of quaternary ammonium salts, the quinoline salts are not well known. Alkyl-quinoline-iodines show bactericidal effects. One can find data in the literature about alkoxide-methyl- quinoline-chlorids; however, the alkyl-tiomethyl-quinoline and the 6-methyl(alkyl-tiomethyl)-quinoline-chlorid are new compounds. The investigations of the authors have shown that both exhibit favorable characteristics as bactericides and fungicides.
