Abstract
The authors describe the paintings inside the Bag caves near Dhar. The factors of deterioration are listed. The paintings had been covered with thick coats of varnish, cow dung, lime, plaster and other such material. The authors emphasize the importance of strenghtening the plaster and of controlling the damage caused by insect activity. Chemicals like formic acid with emulsifier, insecticides like pyrenthrum mixed with dichloro-divinyl-phosphate were used. -- AATA
