Abstract
Perupok comprises eight species of <i>Lophopetalum</i> in Peninsular Malaysia. The timber is closely related to that of mata ulat (<i>Kokoona</i> spp.) but is much lighter (air-dry density 480-640 kg/m3). Other wood properties are summarized for <i>L. floribundum* 1 and <i>L. subovatum</i>. The timber seasons more rapidly than any other tested in Malaysia, with little distortion. The sapwood, but not the heartwood, is easily impregnated. -- AATA
