Abstract
A description is given of a new technique for straightening and strengthening bowed and fractured truss compression members by using structural steel shapes to clamp and squeeze out the bow. The technique was used successfully on a series of wood scissor trusses constructed in 1911. The advantages of this repair technique are simplicity, economy, avoidance of roof removal and minimal disturbance to the appearance of the structure. -- AATA
