Abstract
This article concerns the FBI's database of stolen art. The market for stolen art is described briefly as a means for establishing the need for such a database. Paintings, prints, and sculpture valued at more than $2000 are eligible for inclusion. The database is computerized, and includes photographs viewable on a computerized microfiche viewer. Procedures for submitting reports of stolen or recovered works of art are described. The article concludes with a brief account of two paintings worth approximately $35,000 that had been recovered by the Phoenix FBI office.
