All areas of human activity increasingly require multidisciplinary teams, the Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration area being no exception. This article analyzes the work of the restorer as a highly specialized professional, based on theoretical principles that are scientifically supported by other sciences and disciplines. Chile's current situation is examined and a few examples of multidisciplinary work are given.
