Abstract
The coupling of the conventional powder diffractometer and energy dispersion spectormeter would appear to offer a powerful combination for qualitative and semi-quantitative powder diffractometry. An optimum geometric configuration has been achieved which allows diffraction patterns up to 135° 2theta to be recorded yielding, in addition, emission data which are reasonably free from changes in the setting of the goniometer. All elements from shlorine and upwards can be measured with analysis times of 5-20 minutes.
