Abstract
A description of common insect pests that damage museum collections: house flies, cockroaches, silverfish and firebrats, clothes moths, termites, carpet beetles and powder post beetles. It notes the nature of the damage they cause. The final paragraph advises close inspections, especially of specimens upon receipt, followed whenever evidence of insect activity appears by calling in a pest control expert experienced in dealing with museum infestations.
