Abstract
In recent years, 3D laser scanning has been successfully applied in conservation of cultural relics and archaeology. Compared with traditional measurements, 3D laser scanning is faster, more accurate and does not need to contact the surface of the objects to be measured. It provides a new method in the accurate measurement of historical relics. This paper introduces the theory and workflow of 3D laser scanning and summarizes sits application in conservation and archaeology.
