Abstract
The tumulus was discovered in 1972. The Committee for the Conservation of Tumulus Takamatsuzuka of the Agency for Cultural Affairs assumed responsibility for formulating the policy for on-site preservation. Conservation facilities were designed specifically for the site since the tomb posed unique problems; the design requirements for the facility are listed, and the construction of the facilities is described at length.
