The small dimensions of the tomb increased the problems for the restorers working on the paintings: the physical and emotional health of the workers themselves, and maintenance of the stable environment for the paintings. Paraloid in trichloroethylene was used for consolidating the paint layer. Because the ceiling was in the poorest condition, work was begun there. Problems with this procedure are reported. Records were maintained for each injection of consolidant on photocopy of original colored photographic documentation: location, sequence, strength of solution, and time.
