Abstract
This article presents initial findings in an ongoing investigation of the Collodion Process on Glass. The emphasis is on the role of varnishes with respect to wet plate negatives, and the research is undeniably at a very early and formative stage. Nevertheless, coating thickness and varnish identification procedures in use at this point in the study, recent data, and some of the longer term objectives of the research are discussed.
