Abstract
Linseed oil was deposited from solution into wood and then viewed with the scanning electron microscope in order to obtain information about solution coating distribution in wood and to determine the oil content of cell walls. The oil was non-uniformly distributed in the wood and first appeared in cell lumens at approximately 5% oil content. Below 5% it appeared to be in cell walls.
