Abstract
The 1984-88 restoration of the glass cabinet of Rosenborg Castle, Denmark (built 1606-34) provided the opportunity to document the history of the room. In 1714 a room was renovated to house a large collection of Venetian glass received as a gift by Frederik IV on a trip to Italy in 1709. This was the third remodeling of the room. The glass cabinet continued to house the collection but the room was modified in 1758, 1868, and 1886. Seven major building phases were identified. The room was restored to Phase 4, the original (1714) design of the glass cabinet. -- AATA
