A workshop was held at the University of Arizona, January 28 to February 2, 1979, with the goals of examining critically the various existing radiocarbon calibration schemes, producing a single calibration, and evaluating the statistical validity of assessments of the shortterm variations in the radiocarbon inventory. The agreements and conclusions from this conference are summarized.
