Abstract
Report on the restoration of the 17th-century tombstones of Ikoma Shinso and his wife (Japan). The decayed stone (tuff breccia) was impregnated with a solution of methyl tri-ethoxy silane which also was used for the filling of fine crakcs by injection. For medium crakcs, a mixture of the silane solution and acrylic resin (paraloid b72) was used, while the large ones were filled with epoxy resin. Photographs, references. -- ICCROM
