The following bibliography consists of two discrete parts, with separate pagination. Part I, Leather Conservation Literature, deals with leather, loosely defined to include parchment, hide, skin and pelts. It is based primarily on conservation and related literature, e.g., archaeology, museum, library, archive and biology, and general science literature. Part II, Leather Manufacturers' Literature, is based on literature of the kind intended for use by the industry. Sources include leather chemistry, trade and technology publications and applied chemistry publications as well as technological encyclopedias.
