UV absorber and UV stabilizers are defined and discussed. The efficiency of five compounds is tested and discussed. A varnish formulation containing one percent of any of four absorbers, approximately 1 mil. thick, can be expected to remove most of the incident ultraviolet radiation. -- AATA
