Abstract
X-ray spectrographic analysis shows: Au 82, Ag 12, Cu 3, Fe 3%, Ir trace, Zn absent. This alloy has a melting point of about 1045°C in contrast to a melting point of 1063°C for pure Au. Microscopic examination shows minor deposits of cuprite and malachite on the surface. -- AATA
