Budgetary constraints frequently make ideal care of museum collections impractical. In the absence of full climate control for all display areas, a great step can be taken through extra care at the design stage of preparing an exhibition. This principle is illustrated by the preparation of an exhibit of a 15th century ship in the Western Australian Maritime Museum.
