This note concerns climatic conditions in the Museum of Overseas Communication History, Quanzhou, southern China. Two seasons with contrasting humidities characterize the climate of Quanzhou. Changes in relative humidity on the exhibition floors may damage artifacts on display, particularly wooden artifacts. To counteract these effects, some exhibits are placed in hermetically sealed containers, ventilation may be decreased, and water may be sprinkled on the floor during the dry season. A dehumidifier is used in storerooms, with silica gel or deoxidants placed in storage cases.
