The procedures and materials being used to conserve a unique cache of 8000 year old lime plaster statues found at 'Ain Ghazal, Jordan are described. The contemporary treatment is contrasted with that used 50 years ago on similar more fragmentary objects discovered at Jericho. Discussion centers on the choice of an appropriate consolidant for the statues pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the Raccanello E55050 and Dow Corning Z6070 acrylic silane mix employed. The method of application most suited to these objects is presented. The remaining steps involved in conserving the statues are mentioned briefly.
