Abstract
One of the most versatile tools for the examination of antiquities is the SEM/microanalyser with backscattered electron imaging facilities. Examples of the technological study of antiquities are given. Surfaces of the objects and polished sections of samples reveal greater understanding of the fabrication history and the present state of preservation of the objects. References.
