Abstract
The deterioration of lead seals and symbols in the Numismatic Museum at Athens was caused by poor storage conditions in wooden cabinets with cardboard drawers, even though the pieces were cleaned and coated with canada balsam before storage. To better protect the pieces, they were placed in new aluminium cabinets in closed trays of plexiglas. Before being put in the new storage, the seals and symbols were treated by consolidative reduction, 20 objects at a time. Photographs. References.
