Abstract
Reduction of curvature in a warped panel painting by application of a swelling solution of shellac in ethyl alcohol and ethylene glycol to the reverse is successful, and does not cause damage to the paint layer. The effectiveness of various moisture barriers is compared. Elastic frame Supports utilizing synthetic foam and flexible steel springs are used in place of cradles. See also AATA 15-1131.
