Experimental archaeology proves that the lines are not a high technology engineering achievement: the procedure that the author used is described in detail. Aerial photography survey documents the extent of the lines and has provided the opportunity for detailed mapping. Damage from vehicular traffic and advancing industrial pollution is noted. These lines show a marked similarity in construction to later Inca roads.
