This annotated bibliography is introduced by a brief discussion of the differences between natural and synthetic polymers employed by artists and restorers, and a description of the problems that result from use of different kinds of polymers in restoration. Principal topics treated in the bibliography are: first use of products, use of specific polymers in different countries, deterioration and stability studies of synthetics, comparative studies of resins, and survey or review articles.
