Abstract

A technique for preparing radium-226 samples for low level alpha particle spectrometry is described. The technique relies on coprecipitation of radium-226 with a very small mass of BaSO<sub>4</sub>, followed by filtering on a membrane filter. Good spectra and excellent radium-226 recoveries were obtained.
