Abstract
This article summarizes the proceedings of a meeting at which the application of various techniques of physical and chemical analysis to archaeological problems was discussed. The topics included magnetometer surveys (F. Morrison), neutron activation analysis of ceramics (I. Perlman), thermoluminescence dating of ceramics (S. Fleming), petrographic characterization of marbles (F. J. Turner), radiocarbon determinations made on bone (R. Berger), dating of volcanic rock associated with early hominids in Java (G.H. Curtis), and engineering analysis of techniques of manufacture of archeological artifacts (E.G. Thomsen).
