The authors survey the phenomena accompanying the thermal fatigue of cast iron and the properties of grey iron alloyed with molybdenum. They describe the results of thermal fatigue tests on molybdenum-alloyed grey iron. The number of cycles to rupture is proportional with the square of the molybdenum content.
