This entry describes a three-day workshop with about 50 sculptors, conservators, chemists, metallurgists, engineers and fabricators. The aims of the workshop were to gather information for use by sculptors and to contribute to the dialogue on conservation technology. The participants focused on the problems of three traditional materials: ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and stone and on determining responsibility for conservation.
