Abstract

A study employing MÃ¶ssbauer spectroscopy to examine the chemical state of iron in a few selected clays and ceramics is described. The clays were fired under controlled conditions and the MÃ¶ssbauer spectra obtained are discussed. The colors of the clays and ceramics made from them are presented in a table according to the Munsell system.
