Abstract
The changes in proteins in archaeological bone during burial were studied in bone samples from a Medieval site in England. The relative proportion of soluble to insoluble protein wasincreased in archaeological bone samples compared to modern bone samples and amino acid compositions were also modified. The archaeological bone protein closely resembled collagen. See AATA 16-964. -- AATA
