The International Restorer Seminars, organized in Hungary, had seven meetings in the 14-year period from 1976-1989. The author gives a brief evaluation of the activity of the seminars, which contributed to an essential rise in professional skill, as well as increasing the scientific experience of Hungarian restorers. In addition, lasting professional contacts were established with foreign colleagues. In the new political and, more importantly, economic situation, the continuation of the series is endangered.
