Although the use of x-ray examinations is spreading, first of all, it is applied only for the study of individual, excellent articles. It would be useful for those materials which are also brought to the surface in greater mass. It was successful for the examination of all articles of a settlement, and a cemetery from the immigration period during the excavation. Decorated articles for further restoration were successfuly selected this way. The selected articles were soaked through with Eporezit FM 20 type resin by the restorer; then the thick corroded layer was mechanically cleaned according to the x-ray findings.
