Abstract
Originally required for the photographic mosaic mapping of ancient wrecks sunk in the Mediterranean, the basic underwater photographic mosaic was first made possible in a satisfactory form by the manufacture of a fully-corrected lens system, integrated with an electronic flash or strobe light and a dynamically stable Pegasus vehicle platform with gyro-directional compass and gyro- horizon instrument panel.
