The activities of technical museums in the GDR should be directed in line of marxist thought to show the development of technic in its interrelation with society. These museums are no longer to restrict their expositions to the past, they should also include the present and anticipate future developments. The section Technik should provide proper guiding lines about profile, the organization of new technical museums, the importance of a central museum of technic, and about the difference of technical and polytechnical museums. Thus, the section has to play an important part in producing uniform conceptions of changed training methods for trained personal, and organizing future international contacts.
