Abstract
Discusses various uses of a laser as used by Physicist John Asmus to remove various unwanted surfaces on artwork. The laser is used to produce an intense burst of light which heats the surface it is directed toward and vaporizes any material that absorbs the heat. The surface underneath reflects the laser beam so that it is unaffected by the intense heat.
