Abstract
Outlines the conservation of a Viking Age sword of the K-type found on Kvitsoy in Norway. The sword, extensively decorated with silver and copper-alloy inlay, was washed, packed in gauze, impregnated in polyvinylacetate, and hot-washed in distilled water for four months. Thereafter, the sword was mechanically cleaned and given a protective coating of wax. -- AATA
