Abstract
A Manuscripts and Rare Book conservator was hired to survey the museum's collection to determine its conservation needs. The major problems are brittle parchment, deteriorated bindings, and flaking blue and white pigments. The current policy is to construct book boxes for the manuscripts; however, all parts of the old binding are to be saved if the book is to be rebound. The conservation laboratory is in need of updating to be able to handle book conservation. -- AATA
