Abstract

Nagaur Fort in Rajasthan (India) was built in the 18th century. It is famous for the wall paintings found in its palaces which are exquisite examples of paintings of that period. After a history of the Fort the results of studies on the mural paintings are presented: survey of conservation condition of paintings (Agrawal, Kumar and Lal); analysis of pigments and plaster (Agrawal and Tiwari); biodeterioration of the paintings (Dhawan and Pathek); conservation treatment of paintings (Agrawal, Kumar and Lal); microclimatic data (U. Agrawal, Kumar and Lal). Drawings, photographs, tables, bibliographic references.
