Abstract
The history, development, and chemical identification of blue, violet, and green organic artists' pigments are described. The identification is done by microchemical tests: color reactions using concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid and concentrated alcoholic potassium hydroxide are applied to paint cross-sections, and microcrystallizations are done on pigment particles with concentrated sulfuric acid. These tests enable correct identification. -- AATA
