Abstract
An examination of the photostabilizing effects of twelve nickel chelates on bleached jute is reported. Outstanding photostabilizing effects were obtained with nickel chelates of diethyldithiocarbamate and benzothiazole-azo phenol derivatives and bisdithioketone. The chelates are known to be stabilizers of the excited-state-quencher type for polyolefins. Bleached jute fabric treated with these nickel compounds showed a reduced tendency to yellow when exposed to ultraviolet light. -- AATA
