Fillers and extenders used in the manufacture of soft-wood plywood are discussed. Ligno cellulosic fillers include furfural digestion residues, nutshell flour, bark flour, wood flours and paper pulp sludge. Inorganic fillers include attapulgite and bentonite. Glutinous and non-glutinous protein starch extenders are discussed. The article indicates commercial names of products which may be of potential use in conservation. -- AATA
