The conditions under which paper is to be kept are named. The implements (hygrometers, lightmeters, uv-radiation filters, etc.,) and methods with which these conditions can be created are discussed. The construction of a showcase serves as a good example to demonstrate the techniques of active atmospheric control. The merits of mounting are pointed out: the technique of mount-cutting is illustrated with a series of photos. Several possibilities of safely stowing away a collection are discussed: frames, cupboards drawers, boxes, etc. Finally, some simple methods of repair for the use of the layman are described: pasting, flattening, cleaning, etc. -- AATA
