This book aims at giving a comprehensive metallurgy of bronze with special reference to ingots and castings made in metal moulds. The casting of shapes in sand moulds is not dealt with, but the authors hope that the chapters on the historical development, the assessing of quality, constitution, melting procedures, segregation and heat treatment will appeal as much to those interested in sand castings as to those whose main interest is in chill castings.
