Determination of the fluoride concentration by ion selective fluoride electrode together with the determination of density (pycnometric method), humidity (drying at 110°C), bound water (heating at 180°C) and organic matter (heating at 550°C) has been used for relative dating of human bones from the cemetery at Abusir near Cairo to the 10th century BC. Statistical treatment of larger sets of the analytical results enabled a comparison (relative dating) of the human bones from the same locality. -- AATA
