A wooden relief of Assumpta from the end of 16th or the beginning of 17th century was restored. The sculpture was damaged by woodworm and mold, and had been overpainted. Before restoration examination of wood and pigment layers was performed (microphotography, x-rays, cross-sections etc.). Only small residues of the original polychromy (for instance the red layer on silver, polyment gilding) were found. Destroyed parts were partly restored. -- AATA
