Part IV of the analyses of bronzes and brasses from the Middle Ages contains the application of the results from the first three parts of this study on the nine groups of objects, that are: A crucifixes, crosses F holy-water vessels B candlesticks G door-openers C censers H statuettes D aquamaniles I baptismal fonts, epitaphs. E reliquaries The aim of this study is to use the analytical data from a large series of objects to compare them with the historical information on provenance, age, and authenticity. Particularly important for the question of authenticity of certain objects from the Middle Ages is the analysis of some copies from known originals from the Middle Ages. Besides that, there is the discussion of the question, to what extent is it possible to confirm stylistic arguments about modern copies by analytical date. See also AATA 18-1733. -- AATA
